Nose

Light, caramel with buttercream with some plum notes.

Taste
Fruity again on yellow plum, sweet apple, raspberry and cream.
The sweetness grows and then there is sweet biscuit
Finish

Medium length and sweet all the way.

Comments
I like this, a good malty sweetness on this one.

Color
Russetmuscat
Nose

Vanilla, butter, honey, cookies, citrus fruits

Taste

Oily, creamy, vanilla, butterscotch, little woody notes, little fruity notes

Finish

Medium long, no news in the end

Comments

A more modern Glenrothes whereas I expected rather an old style Glenrothes. At least it is not that badly butterscotch as the 1995 or 1998

This one goes already pretty much into the butterscotch notes which seem very popular among the most recent Glenrothes. Actually it's not necessarily my preference.

Thanks to one of my pals in Zurich who just so happened to come over to the states and brought this for me. Love it!!

Remember it\'s maturity that makes whisky great! That\'s why I Love The Glenrothes!

nice one for travel retail. nose and finish are nice, but the palate isn't so good as it should be.

It should have been great. The nose is, but the palate is way out of balance. The finish is very nice ... problem lies in the palate, it should have been smoother like the `80`s vintage bottles. Therefore only nice

Vassago Clynelish Note
a few years ago

The Glenrothes has bottled vintages from the 1970s, the 1980s and the 1990s. The earliest vintage bottling was the 1971, and the latest the 1998.
