Tasting with FineSpirits_butler1 and Bhagwan on April, 15th 2018. (Sample in very good condition)
A real classic Whisky from 1966. Great cask, powerful at 40%, old style ...
After opening very beautiful flavors flow out of the vial:
Caramel-coffee-chocolate blend, fresh notes of lemon and peach for example, and 'sweet' camphor.
Very oily the dram lies in the glass!
The nose starts with a mixture of scouring powder, motor oil and mineral aromas, camphor concretizes itself, spice with citrus and flower aromas, hints of meat / roast marinade / meat broth, spicy maltiness and honey wort, lime remover, old paper (with thin honey), spicy herbs -Caramel, unripe cherries, mint tea, chamomile, cherry cough drops, old lacquered wooden cabinet, hints of anise, peach and mango, lemon kohlrabi, liquorice;
after about 20 minutes, the whisky becomes homogeneous and consistent.
Powerful start with sweetness, fruits and spice.
Mixture of jam and butter, honey mixes by, lemon, bitter orange, roast meat with fat, peach and other tropical fruits, the baker's bread bark, fruit brandy, rum, acidity throughout - parts of this gradually turn into sweetness , essential classic Whisky!
At the second sip: plums, dark honey, the barrel shows perfect and dry-tart, old lacquered cabinet, deep fruit basket (also fermented), dark tobacco leads to an idea of coffee grounds.
Rum, Sherry, nut brandy, marzipan, wonderful dark wood, butter, citrus peel, bitter orange, tart-grassy garden herbs, darkest plums, wooden jewelry box; finally: cellar, coal cellar, auto repair shop, idea Kohlrabi.
