    • Nose
Loads of star fruits, which was fresh and juicy, and was full of fruit acids. Peaches and pears to follow. Then Hazelnut and walnut. Some blackcurrant buds, honey, bananas. Oak was indeed pleasant. Eventually a hint of hay. After breathing the glass, it smelled a bit like prunes. Fresh pomelo after a sip.
    • Taste
Fresh was the first word that came to my mind, a bit bitter, grapefruit peel, green tea. Then it becomes oily. Sweeter and became apricot and papaya.
    • Finish
Wax on the tongue. Bitter like green tea, pomelo. Eventually a little of spice hits the back of the mouth

  6. Baanaanaabob scored this whisky 93 points Connoisseur

Creamy tropical fruits, definitely one of the best of these speysiders series

  7. Calmar scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

A good whisky, quite diverse in its components with a rather modest palette of derivatives, is not rich in shades, but on the whole it looks very decent, there is some kind of self-sufficiency, dignity, a sense of age in it.
    • Nose
      Open, dry, larch wood, dry medicinal herbs, stone dust, Revit vitamins, some elusive medical notes - antiseptic, bandage;
    • Taste
Soft, rich, a combination of strong sweetness and tart oak, creamy notes, vanilla, nuts, grain, camphor, tobacco, herbal notes.
    • Finish
Soft, warming, oak, sweet honey-floral notes, lemon peel, bergamot, camphor, potion shades.

Tasted 2cl at The Whisky Fair 21/04/18

Didn't seem to be a very active cask, just how we like it with this older ones ;)

Another very nice Speyside 70s, which stands only in the finest nuances for me behind a few others.
    • Nose
Coconut, soft fennel and nutmeg, already very similar to the other Speyside regions, just a little more elegant and slightly more restrained, cinnamon, mango, lychee, papaya and honeydew melon, red apple glazed with brown sugar, honey and bananas
    • Taste
Creamy fine, but always getting drier, pear full, pineapple, grapefruit peel and some light tobacco, cinnamon and papaya, bananas, the coconut and then some tea and mint in between, that is meant by drier
    • Finish
A lot of sweetness from nectar, coconut, floral and banana, tea and light malt with honey, medium to long

And again a great 1973 Speysider ... never stops! ;-)
    • Nose
super tropical-fruity, super nectar-sweet, mango, papaya, pineapple, white lilac, jasmine, elderflower, honey, bananas, custard, oregano flowers, icing lemon, coconut cream, light cress, olive oil, sweet apples - beguiling nose
    • Taste
creamy, oily, while brilliant, mango, papaya, candied elderflower, bananas in coconut cream, subtle pepper, light cinnamon and nutmeg, a touch of kumquat and lime, dark chocolate, green tea with jasmine, olive oil, wonderful interaction, never too dominant ... mint, anise
    • Finish
medium long, nectar sweet, flattering spicy, always the sweet flowers are present, plus the tropical fruits and some eucalyptus - beautiful

Another great old speysider in the series of the 1973s and 1975s around 40yo. This one is very fruity on the nose and a little bit more dry and less fruity on the palate - kind of more serious drinking. Anyway this is great value for the price!
    • Nose
Intense, fruity, mostly tropical, ripe bananas, mango, honey, spices, creme brulee, whiffs of citrus, hints of oak wood - great as expected!
    • Taste
Punchy, oily, creamy, pepper, spices, subtle sweetness, fine oak wood, not loud at all, fruits coming from the back - very good!
    • Finish
Medium long, little zesty, more oak but not drying
