Ambitious in terms of price. Apart from that, a very palatable Lowlander.
    • Nose
      84 84
Caramel candy, floral herbal notes, vanilla, a bit of malt sweetness and fresh oak that is reminiscent of chipboard. Overall restrained. In the background grapes and red wine tannins. Orange and citrus. Takes time to develop.
    • Taste
      85 85
Creamy soft start. Then there are ginger and white pepper spiciness. Cream candy, honey sweetness, cloves, light grapes, tannins, vanilla.
    • Finish
      86 86
Medium to long, dry and slightly bitter, the grapes remain with the oak.

    Blenders Glass.
I expected the worst, but quite to myself.
Let's hope that the quality will continue to grow in the future. Balance 21

    • Nose
Nose: cognac (oak), hay, a drop of parquet varnish, hazelnuts, tobacco leaves ... there is a subtle note, I don’t understand why, but it is very pleasant and attractive 22
    • Taste
Taste: fruity sweetness, wormwood bitterness, pepper and spice hotness 22
    • Finish
Finish: a short ... burst of pungency, and immediately fade into sweetness and indistinct woody bitterness 21

  3. Thermidor scored this whisky 77 points Expert Senior

Too many wood spices for me. I'd prefer Bladnoch with less wood influence.

    Tasted in a Bladnoch lineup:
    Pure Scot blend (75 pts.), Pure Scot Virgin Oak blend (73), New Make (70), Samsara (77), 10yo (76), 11yo (79), 14yo (82), 15yo Adela (79), 17yo red wine finish (77), 25yo Talia (83), 26yo Talia (84), 27yo Talia (82).
    • Nose
Ginger, pepper, sweet winelike notes. Oaky, sweaty, grassy.
    • Taste
Spicy, peppery and planky. Kinda like rye whisky. Water makes it spirity. Blackberries, currants, and spices from the oak. Some leather.
    • Finish
Winegums and wood spices. Too sweet, and with this allspice/muscat spice dominance.

It would be an excellent wine-bourbon whisky, if it kept 3-4 years more in the barrel. But it turned out to be a rather expensive, sharp, young and unrestrained brew. Haste and greed. Disappointment.
    • Nose
      85 85
fresh, fruity (apple), tannin, notes of bourbon and red wine
    • Taste
      82 82
sharper, even pungent, with a noticeable alcoholic presence; fruits and sweets in the background
    • Finish
      83 83
warm and dry, the alcohol quickly goes away leaving honey, sweetness and spice

  5. Igor_Gudimov scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Waxy, overripe sweet red apple and red grapes
    • Taste
Sweet red fruit (black grapes?), a hint of smoke, and tannins
    • Finish
Short, sweet with wine tannins tartness

  6. Dre73 scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

Pretty smooth whisky, with some red fruity hints. Tasteful, not too complex but just pleasant enough.
    • Nose
      83 83
Very fruity, pineapple, orange, pretty fresh. Some plums, berries, winegums. Spicy as well.
    • Taste
      83 83
Very smooth initially, then a bit tingling on the tongue. Some plums, honey, a bit spicy.
    • Finish
      82 82
Still very smooth, woth some hints of plums and berries. Winegums. Not too long, with a little spicy hint, cinnamon.

What I personally don't like most of all is the way how it affects me.
Headache started in 2-3 minutes after the first sip.

    It also happed with 10YO.

    Quite strange and unpleasant experience
