- Feisty, young Caol Ila (confirmed by bottler). Smells like a burning couch. Very peaty and leathery. Palate is salty, smoky and fried bacon. Big fun!
- Nasty son of a gun. Could be a secret winner. Reminds me of Lagavulin 8 on crack cocaine... (might indeed be a 6yo cs version) which isn't a bad thing at all! Taste fits the sweet smoky vanilla bourbon cask nose but hits like a truck + demands full attention. Certainly no casual companion.
Benefits from 15 min. of air in the glass before drinking. Surprisingly hefty still - think Laphroaig CS @ similar strength. But minus the medicinal or too ashy notes. Remains potent even with a generous splash of water.
Still waiting for the genius "click" moment which may or may not come with this one. Could have potential to go to 89p., will wait and see... :-)
