A very good Irish, but just a very good Irish.
    • Nose
Soft but deep nose, obviously tropical. Mainly on mango and pineapple. Lemon also with orange peel. A little pepper and honey, but above all only fruit.
    • Taste
Oily mouth at the beginning of the mouth, then more creamy then with salivation. Copy of the nose with more present pepper and wood.
    • Finish
Fairly short finish, slightly astringent, on vanilla wood.

very tropical - as expected to be honest - on the nose.
less tropical on the palate than the nose suggested.
still very very good old irish whisky.

if you love the style in general, this one is a stunner.

Just fruits, fruits and more fruits on the nose. Name any tropical, citrus or orchard fruit and it’s probably in there. Plus some vanilla, some grass and a few herbs. But really we’re here for the fruit. Oily on the palate and the fruits don’t disappoint, more clearly on the tropical side now, and dialling up even further on the finish, along with a wave of chalk and herbal spice. Perhaps just a little too much of the grass, chalk and herbs distracting from the fruits, on the other hand it offers a bit of balance as it could otherwise be too much. Overall a treat of a dram and a profile I don’t come across often enough in Scotch, other than long gone Littlemills and some rare examples of Ben Nevis and Glenburgie.

Freshly mown grass, herbs, banana, nectarine, pine branches. Moist earth, vanilla.
    • Taste
Soft, fruity. Nectarine, white chocolate, light grapes, some peach, almonds.

Very fine and balanced, not necessarily typical Irish as the rather herbal and bitter finish is missing which is good - very drinkable and enjoyable - great!
    • Nose
      92 92
Intense, fruity, tropical fruits, mango, passion fruit, pineapple, also quite citric, lemons, honeydew, spices, pepper, more yellow fruits - very good!
    • Taste
      93 93
Very oily, creamy, sirupy, good sweetness, very fruity, torpical fruits, citrus fruits, fine hints of oak wood - really not loud, spices - great!
    • Finish
      92 92
Long, warm, fruity, spicy, not drying

    Ths is what Serge says:
Irish Single Malt Whisky 27 yo 1990/2017 (47.1%, Acla da fans, Switzerland, Irish, single malt, barrel, 182 bottles) Five stars
Good company, good people, good whiskies. Colour: pale gold. Nose: we’re close to the other 27 but this is a little more on grassy oils, and probably a little less exuberant. There’s more barley as well, cereals (breakfast, I told you), and then indeed, bananas, mangos, passion fruits, but also ripe apples and pears. Some nectar, some vanilla. Mouth: oh yes extremely good. Tenser and more citrusy, with a large fruit salad, bananas, apples, lemons and grapefruits, a touch of tamarind, then notes of roasted nuts, a little maple syrup, a touch of fudge, mandarins, apricots… Finish: rather long, very fruity, oily, perfect. Comments: really perfect.

Very tasty fruity tempting recognizable Irish. I like it. Nice flavors - if it was not the price, even if Acla is usually cheaper than any other - so the Irish imho is weaker than any 1990 / 1991er I know so far. He is not bad - but so easy that I would not spend the money.

Peaches and peaches HubbaBubba Chewing gum, citrus, passion fruit - very exotic with a slightly artificial twist and the typical note, which immediately shows that you have an Irishman in your glass.
Add to that rosemary, ginger and a touch of juniper, some flour dust and delicate woody notes - something mineral vibrates in the background as well as a very delicate adhesive note.
    • Taste
      88 88
fresh, instant mint, citrus with light acidity and sweetness, lemon drop, pineapple, passion fruit, lemon peel, slightly dry oak with spicy tree sap, slightly dry, fine herbs.
Very delicate but not very intense.
    • Finish
      89 89
Citrus cascades, pepper, chili, beautiful oak with mint oil, quite a long clear accusation, almost intense with clearer aromas than on the palate, but less fruity

The first sip on the whisky ship was little intoxicating. At that time, only 82 points in my book ... Believe in the whisky's I had already drunk ..
For a private tasting very different. Very nice malt. Not my favorite but very good .... That's why a better rating ....
Another Irish Single Malt from the 2011 sold Teeling Stock. For us for the first time the 1990 vintage. It is amazingly different than the vintages 1988/1989/1991: The exuberant tropical fruits and a lot of Cassis are there - but this time not over-dominant. The whole is wrapped in a fatty, creamy-oily malt. Very delicate, full-bodied and worth every cent. No smoke.
