Ingenious nose. In the end, you have to be okay with quite a few bitters, though.

Gorgeous intermingling of ex-bourbon and old-age aromas. Waxy, fruity, sweet, with fruit salad (I get ripe pear, apricot, and melon), a touch of varnish and freshly split coconut.

Water makes it a bit more cask-heavy; not sure if I'd recommend it.
    • Taste

The strength provides plenty of boost, pushing oak and fruit into the foreground. Not as lush and opulent as the nose, but still very fun. Juicy and creamy in equal measures, with some barrel char coming through on the mid-palate and a zesty, tart citrus vibe trailing not far behind. Gets more sour / bitter as it goes on.

Oak spice, bitter lemon and grapefruit. Tart and tangy.

very pleasant, hint of flowers, slightly sweet and fruity with aromas of tropical fruits, also notes of apples, pears, peaches, apricots are added. Some light honey, fine and dry notes of wood/oak, baking spices, idea nutty.
    • Taste
      91 91
warm, fruity-spicy, dry wood notes, some freshly ironed laundry, spices, hint of chocolate, slightly tart With the addition of H2O more fruity, slightly perfumed, sweetish-fruity-spicy, the wood notes become finer, a little chocolate here too, spices, a bit Honey. Delicious!

Slightly fruity and spicy, fine oak notes, a little of the freshly ironed laundry, hint of chocolate and nuts, spices. Finally, slightly malty-sweet finish. Long.

    Gorgeous color.
    promising.

    A very nice aroma!
    Very soft, slightly fruity note.
    grapes, apples,
    reminiscent of a lemon tree.
In the background the old barrel.

    Warm, creamy, old and ripe,
    slightly nutty,
hmm, I'm chewing on the sip,
    rave about the good taste
I don't really want to know exactly what's in there.

    The nose develops
    now with some vanilla.
    very aromatic,
    I'm floating on cloud 7.
Yes, an old, unadulterated bourbon cask can do something...

    A wonderful bottling.

Really interesting because while the aromas and flavours themselves are very similar to other Bladnochs, this one exploits them in the "creamy - fruity" way more than the "juicy - citrusy" one, making for a different experience. This gives it a really great complexity, but looses a bit of freshness in the way. Very good all in all, especially on the nose, which lifts it to a light 90. Thanks again adrenalin for the sample !
    • Nose
Quite fresh, melon, then gets very precise on green tea, which I love. Jasmine, bergamot, mint, aloe vera ... old style goodness. Light vanilla and a very elegant fine woodiness. Soft fruitiness : guava, fresh apples, less citrusy and fresh than one would expect. Gets even more complex afterwards with eucalyptus, sage and a feeling of laundry that suits the profile perfectly. Though not in a good day for tasting I found it already very complex and very precise.
    • Taste
Apples, pears, melon, and a bit more vegetal here. Obvious green tea again, with green pepper, salt, lemon, and a feeling of fresh goat cheese maybe. It's not as precise as the nose and might lack a bit of freshness but further sips were more convincing, gaining a waxier old-style touch. Complex again.
    • Finish
Salt, lemon (and maybe even the Tequila that goes with it), basil (that "sweetly herbal" feeling), quite a lot of lime now but still not in a "fresh and juicy" way. Green tea still. Good one.
