Character: Wonderfully complex and just coherent. There is so much to discover here. The numerous different aromas and flavors add up to a nearly perfect overall picture. Remarkably exciting and complex. Rating: dream fabric! A bottling, which inspires me all around. I'm starting to run out of words. Only so much: a large bottle would be a dream, but unfortunately baw does not fit into my budget. I wish all the lucky ones who have a whole bottle a lot of joy and enjoyment with it. From me today there are whopping 95 points and a good deal of humility before this great drop.
    • Nose
Basic flavors: herbs, fruits, citrus notes , nut, honey, oak, malt, spice * Description: A nose for pure kneeling and eternally long exploration. In exactly this order, a great blend of herbs, exotic fruits and elegant, spicy oak flavors. Fine cinnamon and lavender notes stream into the nose in front of a fine sweet honey backdrop. With cinnamon and lavender, ColdAesthetics really hit the nail on the head. There is a freshness that reminds me of lemongrass and grated ginger. In addition, there are really many bright, ripe exotic fruits. Neither superficial nor obtrusive, but always present. Mango, passion fruit, star fruit, juicy honeydew melon, over-ripe kakis, sun-ripened oranges, ripe limes and much, much more. An exotic fruit basket at its best. A really nice malt note and delicious nut mix are also available. Not to mention the sovereign over all resting ancient oak, which has nothing more to prove and the wonderful interplay of flavors just beautiful completes. Here are no wishes left. Simply great!
    • Taste
Basic flavors: fruits, herbs, oak, citrus notes, dried fruits, vanilla, spice * Description: Elegant and intense, the drop caresses the tongue. Also in terms of taste, exotic fruits are full: especially passion fruit, sweet honeydew melons and ripe kakis. Sweet oranges and limes work their way through their mouths, and again and again new flavors of fruit shine from overripe pears to ripe kiwis. Maybe the imagination gets along with me slowly, but somehow juicy raisins come through and immediately afterwards some honey and a very elegant oak taste get full attention. In the transition to the finish, the fruits gradually pu a peu increasingly beautiful, soft vanilla and oak notes their space. An elegant Mediterranean herbal mix stimulates the salivation and completes the complex and harmonious taste experience in an excellent way. Cinnamon comes through again and somehow whisks a hint of sweet white pepper. What can I say? I'm baffled: the taste really holds what the nose promises. And I am sure that there is much more to discover here in terms of taste than my modest 2cl sample gives. That's just great.
    • Finish
Basic Flavors: Fruits (light), Oak, Vanilla, Herbs Description: The finish is medium to long and still too short. Exotic fruits, herbs, vanilla and oak give their final concert with a multi-layered and profound aftertaste. Intense, elegant, slightly creamy and absolutely balanced. A pure pleasure.

For me the best undisclosed 73er / 75er Speysider with a towering nose. A dream.

Not as vibrant or aromatic as many other 1973 speysiders but the pedigree is obvious -- fruity, sour notes with some lemon meringue and cranberry frosting.
    • Taste
      91 91
A candied sweetness that borders on the tropical. The sourish notes are very distinguishable for these 1973 speyside, likely ex-fino casks. Creamy, good mouthfeel.

Lovely stuff... but getting a bit boring?!? Impossible!

The aroma is simply amazing, immediately after the discovery produces a crazy spectrum. But to reveal the taste you need to give the whisky time. Awesome whisky, one of the best I've tried in this life. So far with only Speyside 45 mba with him on the same level of everything tried before

    • Nose
First it splashes a wave of fragrant spices and spring field herbs. The second wave is sweet oriental fruit in honey, and nuts, honey melon, banana, raisins and dried apricots, mangoes, sweet tangerines. All this explosive fruit range is seasoned with spices and covers with wave after wave of freshness. Awesome After standing still appear black tea with honey and sherry with cinnamon and cardamom
    • Taste
Creamy caramel cake, sprinkled with cinnamon and banana, smoked prunes in oil
    • Finish
Black pepper mixed with oak bark, iodized salt and tangerine peel, hazelnut in chocolate glaze. Long, spicy and pleasantly warming finish with pleasant fruit and nut tingles under the tongue :)

Complex with vanilla, lovely fruit bowl - I picked out pears, floral, herbs, an array of sweet spices and a lovely creamy/buttery feel, just lovely.

  8. ColdAesthetics scored this whisky 93 points Connoisseur

Even among the already ingenious Speyside region bottlings one of the best for me.
    • Nose
Banana Split, wonderful nose as from a noble, exotic perfume, passion fruit and pear, papaya and beautiful light herbal honey with cinnamon in it, lavender, thyme and nutmeg, also some freshly grated almonds and coconut flakes, vanilla
    • Taste
Full brown sugar, marzipan, camphor, lavender and rosemary, thyme, nutmeg and cinnamon, of course, the tropical fruit salad, papaya, passion fruit, mango, green apple and pear also, beautiful malt is added and herbal honey
    • Finish
The tropical sweetness remains beautiful with the single pickled fruits, the herbal honey and some nice oldschool malt, long to very long

Another great Speysider from 1973 - it's really hard to say which one is the best but anyhow they are on a very high level - excellent!
    • Nose
Fresh fruits, intense, honey comb, mango pineapples, truck loads of tropical fruits - fantastic!
    • Taste
Oily, creamy, fresh fruits again, also apples, pears, a whole fruit salad and a good citric level, finest oak wood, subtle sweetness, just hints of vanilla - great!
    • Finish
Long, warm, a little bit peppery and zesty but still mostly sweet and fruity
