- At >200€ nowadays this is an easy pass for me. Thanks Tasttoe for the sample !
- It's certainly not bad but it doesn't showcase sufficient personnality to allow itself to play the malty-acrid-austere card. Some of that very nice fruitiness on the nose just doesn't make it through the lips. The last sips were better though ; maybe it really needs a long aeration time (I already waited quite a bit, but who knows).
Kiwi big time, funny, it's the first time I encounter it so specifically in a dram. So to speak : a green fruitiness both very juicy and kind of acrid. Lime. Then more acidic fruits : redcurrants, physalis, ... fizzy. Quite light and discrete. But besides those acidic fruits there's something else, dry and acrid, with a big big maltiness. White flour, limestone, newspapers. It kinds of bridles its sexiness. A touch of cream.
Well, regarding texture and alcohol integration, I can't say anything. At the flavour department though, it's not that rich for an almost 30yo dram. Very malty to start with (a fresh warm loaf of bread), then rather "ideas" of fruitiness with homemade apple juice, mirabelles, green acidic candies. Maybe some melon on later sips. I expected more freshness after that nose.
Medium and coherent with the rest. Creamy, with kiwi, green fruits, malt, star anise. Some good tea at the end.
