Nose: tropical on banana, fresh papaya, lychee?, all fresh with some sweetness to it. Soft earthy peat. Halfway the dram: only banana and the soft earthy peat (86)Pallet: first few seconds the nose becomes the taste and then there comes a blanket of soft smoke blanket rolling over the fruit and devours it. Which at his turns gets overruled by some earthy peat. But not in the 'boom' way. It's al flowing nicely from one to another. Mouth coating, like it should be. (89)
Fininsh: long, with the banana, papaya on a sweet smokey planket and some traces of iodine. When the fruit disappear there is still the sweet smoke. (89)
The only less good thing to mention: the nose is a bit sharp. The full taste is only granted after 5-6 seconds in the mouth. But then it becomes really beautiful.
It has a good punch to it at 43°GL, the alcohol is very good integrated. Very very quaffable. If this was at CS, it would be a real stunner. It has quite a punch at 43%, and the bottle was open for a time so i think it could be even 40% at this moment.
I really really love this style of Bowmore. A pitty it ain't for sale at a normal price...
