From the time when the hunt for ppm's had not been blown yet: the phenols let other elements live next to them very well. This bottle spontaneously gave me my one sister out of her house bar when I drew her attention to this trouvaille!
    • Nose
fine and slightly peat bogs, also soft phenols, citrus fruits (orange), figs, but also sea salted wet ropes ... and that does not contradict itself: ashy dryness perfectly rounded
    • Taste
the smell is completely taken over by the taste
    • Finish
long, full-bodied, lets all the previous reminisce, slightly peppery. Even slightly watery: here you notice the sheer 40%.

  2. Calmar scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Good whisky, restrained classic Ayla, a little lack of density and strength, the flavor is still there and here, but the taste / finish would not hurt, but in general it is very worthy, it seems like a modern Lagavulin with a admixture of Highland Park and ash.
    • Nose
Restrained, dry, juicy and spicy wood, a cigar box, pipe tobacco, soft smoke-peaty notes, ash, stone dust, tar, caramel and lemon rind, leather goods, shoe cream, sweet creamy confectionery motifs, nuts, vanilla.
    • Taste
Oily, spicy wood, peat, dry herbs, nuts, pitch, light peppery wave, caramel.
    • Finish
Light, oily, smoked, lemon rind, light astringent bitterness of young bark, caramel, cocoa, peat.

  3. Alex Fridays scored this whisky 92 points Expert Senior

Peated smoke, creosote, sweet fruits, christmas cake, old leather, furniture polish, cream notes on nose.

Peated smoke, creosote, spices, oak cask, green apples and dried fruits notes on palate.

Creosote, apples, vanilla, spices, dryness notes on long finish.
