[December, 2011]  I had another dram during a FoSM club tasting.  I bought this bottle for 143 Euro (279 Deutschmark) in April, 2000.In
my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50
    - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 87,5.  I simply noted "as I knew it before"  (see note below).  As there are several batches of this 10 year old Lochside with significant quality swings most probably both bottles were from the same batch (what is likely as both were bought at the same dealer in Germany).

[May, 2003]  I had this dram during an "Old 10 Years" tasting at Bonn-Mehlem.  In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50
    - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored this dram 87,5.  My notes state a pale gold colour and a light texture.  A very strong old bottle flavour (OBF = adhesive glue and aceton aromas) releases over time a nice fruity profile (pears, apples, banana) with vanilla and additional floral aromas.  There is a light sour note too.  The mouthfeel is soft and gentle.  The taste is all about vanilla, hones and rockmelon.  The finish is rather short and sticks to the tongue only (nothing in the throat).

Colour: light yellow Nose: sweet and fruity, fruit salad, apple, pear, later cereal notes Body: oily Mouth: mild, sweet cereal notes Finish: medium, mild, fruity, caramel, later dry wood notes Conclusion: 85P, very nice fruity Bourbon Cask Whisky

  4. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

Very robust Highland Malt. Not wrong.
    • Nose
Sweet, light and fruity at first, getting a little bit waxy over time and an idiosyncratic light anise note in the background.
    • Taste
Light, fruity, cereals, a little bitterness.
    • Finish
Slightly sweeter, more malty, a slight oak bitterness at the end.

  5. St. Pauli scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Wax (candles, beeswax), polished oak, barley, vanilla, peach, strawberry, banana, eucalyptus
    • Taste
Oily, gentle, later on the palate becoming slightly bitter. Fruity (banana skin, papaya), waxy, vanilla, eucalyptus, mint, pepper.
    • Finish
White spices, grass, barley, less fruity than on the palate.

  8. Willie JJ scored this whisky 75 points Expert Senior

Not a bad whisky, but lacking in weight and intensity.
    • Nose
Citrus, soy sauce, grapefruit, then fabric softener, furniture polish, lychees and emulsion paint.
    • Taste
Citrus attack. Short, fatty, citrus/floral interplay. A little lacking in body.
    • Finish
Short and rather uninspiring. Slightly dusty and peppery.
