    1438) Macduff, 1997, 19YO, #5278, The Single Cask

    Day 64 of Lockdown - 20th May

N- Blossoming farm of berries, peaches and apples. Expect the waves of ripe sweet fruits come fore along with warm spicy strength that "Mint" and "Numb" your nasal. Floral vanilla, ripe mango with dripping sweet nectar, but also maintain clean, breezy and not overly heavy. (91/22)

P- Nutty, charming honey, vanilla and lemony cake. Arnebia root. Good and direct, another word lacking the depth that I would like to see from a single cask. (87/21)

F- Long, wood branches, full mouthfeel, deliciously comforting, getting more of this arnebia root emerging at the back palate. (88/22)

B/B- 88/22 Thought I expect more complexity from a well aged single cask bottling, but world ain't perfect all the time. Still a well done dram.

N: It’s been a good festival for fans of Speyside whisky. This one is lemon zesty, woody and leathery with a touch of plastics and an awesome subtle pong.
T: Drives ahead with a large wood spice/honey surge towards dry malty cereal>putty. Turns light barley dry…..
F: ,.... and concludes perfectly - the dry barley maintained.
    C: A highly decent session number.Scores a B
