    Very interesting dram. Initial Taste is mix of a candle with dried orange. Nose is very complex: sherry notes but also a malt charakter: wax, candles etc. This is not a boring sherry notes only. There is complexity.

    By the way, it is quite good christmas malt. We have: candles, dried oranges and small note of fresh christmas tree.

    note: 91 /100

    Delicious!

    • Finish
      Long and aromatic.

  5. Calmar scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

    A good sherry mole, deep enough and varied, but except for sherry, there is practically nothing.
    • Nose
      Open, dry, spicy wood, furniture varnish, unsweetened prunes, burnt biscuits, pre-foliage, pu er, leather haberdashery.
    • Taste
      Saturated, dry, oak, furniture varnish, creamy notes, unsweetened dried fruits, metallic acid.
    • Finish
      Light, bitter-woody, metallic sourish, dried fruits.

  6. Mannix65 scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

    Nice special bottling
    • Nose
      Sherry, oranges, dark chocolate, dusty leather, dried fruit, ripe raspberries, sweetened cranberries, a bit of coal - with water it is carried more like cherries, like a Swabian Danube wave (cake)
    • Taste
      Sherry, chocolate, red fruits
    • Finish
      medium-long, fruity, dry, quite woody notes

    Sherry and oak are well balanced, with slight corners and edges. Nicely done.
    • Nose
      Sherry, leather, oranges, dried fruits, oak, somehow earthy and dirty
    • Taste
      Strong onset, sherry and oak, orange, white pepper, honey
    • Finish
      Oak, sherry, spicy and somehow earthy again

  9. theograph scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

    Wonderful malt - but it comes very closed, takes a lot of time in the glass and probably some time to "weiterreifen" in the bottle;
    PLV: 9/10
    • Nose
      Pepper, mustard, at the far end hints of sherry, lemon, wax, a little old leather, cedar, caramel and cocoa; furthermore not clearly definable spices, vlt. Cardamom and curry (?), Thyme (?) Almonds, overall dusty and extremely closed! With water comes out very clearly peppermint;
    • Taste
      Very creamy, creamy, again these hidden spices like cardamom and curry, thyme (?), Followed by a strawberry and raspberry note, tannins and acidity, overall clear associations with red wine, dry;
    • Finish
      Medium long, warm and spicy;
