Whisky Reviews for Allt-a-Bhainne 2000 DL

1 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 82.80 points

  1. rottendon scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

Clean malt. No weaknesses, no special features, great every day dram. Notes from a blind tasting.
    • Nose
Ripe yellow fruits, malt, a touch of sulfur, relatively strong. After a while, many quince, ripe but still with acidity, a well integrated vanilla, butter biscuits, a little sweat and a touch of grapefruit. Warms a peculiar mixture of unripe green and mashed ripe apples, higher acidity. But also something like custard.
    • Taste
Also in the mouth apples and butter biscuits, to the back but also a few herbs. The onset is initially restrained, the mouth slightly oily, nice and tight. The second sip clearly tart.
    • Finish
In the finish, he first dries off while he vigorously warms up the chest. After a few moments, there is also an impression of freshly mashed apples including their core casing on the tongue. Overall, the finish is rather short to medium.
