Wow! Again what a board with the number 29 ;-)

Relax, refresh, rejuvenate. It just fits. The eleven friends of whisky can describe it best.

The whisky is from the nose already great and just so wonderfully own and intense. The Laphirauchnote is just so mega present and is already pouring in the smoke. But an extraordinary freshness. Lemon and grilled ham follow. Something salted brown trout in the end!

In the mouth a great start with a lot of power and equal to a decent cargo oak. A touch of ginger and coconut. Then comes the sweetness in the form of toffee and vanilla pudding.

The spare rips on the description I get if only very subtly in the background. The also described "Jamaican rum cake" rather not. Although there is an association of Jaffa Cake.

The smoke is just right for me and not so dominant. But he is always there and puts on the cheeks inside.

For almost infinite finale again intense sweetness with salt and tart oak. Just before it's finally over, the BBQ notes come at the very end.

    Conclusion: GREAT. Thank you!

N: Yes indeed, smokey leathery olives, orange juice,.. heaps here.
T: Barley/straw & gentle olive-y soft smokey oils, thoroughly integrated into the oak.
F: Oak-y, sooty & tarry then gradually ashy. Hints at Daiquiri with its sour lemony /limey touches.
    C: Easily the best of the day.Scores a B+

    SMWS tasting notes:

We all met in a Finish sauna and as we got comfortable water mixed with sweet birch essential oil was poured over the hot stones of the stove. Some of us got out immediately, others stayed a little longer but eventually we all ended up after a dip in the cold sea, around a beach bonfire. Now we took a sip and it warmed us immediately; big, massive, powerful hot sweet savoury smoke like devilled spare ribs and pork sausages with garlic and herbs. Water released perfumed ashy aromas and fresh seaweed cast up on the shore whilst on the palate like smoking a naturally sweet Cuban cigar and nibbling away on smoked Jamaican rum cake.DRINKING TIP: …and now it is ’me’ time
