Whisky Reviews for Ledaig 1994 GM
4 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 87.41 points
- Nose: fresh and malty, unripe pear, lime, fairly grassy and slightly sour, a hint of vanilla, subtle but aromatic smoke, sawdust Taste: creamy, lemon sweet, very sweet, again very malty (a typical whisky halt), slightly scorched wood, pear, on the finish again light pear fruit and some mellow wood and licorice. Smoke as good as none available.
Conclusion: Very good malt but certainly not what you expect under a Ledaig. The age is noticeable.
- A Ledaig? Not seriously. No cowshed, no smoke, but supple in the nose and mouth and with a successful finish.
The nose is initially restrained. You can find sweet, ripe bananas. In addition a lot of honey and milk chocolate. The nose remains discreet, but still with a lot of character. Over time comes floral scent and mild herbs, oak prevails. However, you are looking for smoke in vain.
Spicy and strong onset. The bananas from the nose are also found on the tongue Much spicier on the tongue than the nose would suggest. Vanilla and honey, mild toffee. He hardly loses strength on the tongue. With time come tobacco leaves and leather flavors, oak spice makes it dry. Behind the back comes pepper and menthol.
Medium-long and dry, still with small pressed banana. The menthol is still cooling, the pepper lingers ... And still no smoke found.
