Typical G&M Brown Label whisky for me. Delicate beautiful old style nose (93+), unfortunately followed by a thin palate (80-). The difference in depth between the nose and palate is huge. But I'm lucky that I'm able to taste such an old and rare Oban.
A very delicate nose of old books on dusty bookshelves. Beeswax. Herbal and perfumy notes. Cumin. Fruity sweetness of oranges and apricots at the background. Some honey as well. Complex. I could nose this for hours.
Light and quite clean. Very thin. Hints of sherry. Sweet oak. Cinnamon, liquorice and ginger.
Short. Drops dead almost instantly. Dry. Slightly spiced. Bitterness.
