  1. Ostap scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

The aroma is bright and meaningful, well-known corporate style. At all stages is noticeably sweet, delicious. Slightly sags in the aftertaste.
    • Nose
      89 89
Sweet, industrial, mazut, delicate peat, fresh broken branches, biscuit, cheap Chinese-made toy plastic, sweet rubber, smoked, plum, honey, baked meat in sweet BBQ sauce, raisins, candied candied fruit, pearl grain ( malt), water-based paint removers.
    • Taste
      89 89
Soot, honey, peanuts in sugar, caramel, sweet, pepper, rubber, smoked meat, peat, a bit of meat in the final phase, lemon peel.
    • Finish
      87 87
Sweet, caramel, medium duration, new board, earthy-mineral, ash background, sweet plum, tar, metallic taste, dried meat (basturma), pepper.

Disappointing. After 12 years of maturing in wood it is still more like new spirit. The colour could have been a warning! It's not worth the price I paid (about € 70).

Mole Island whisky bottled by an independent bottler. Where, how and under what circumstances the barrel was kept. There is no exact description on the label.

Aroma, vanilla roll, spirits and freshly ground grain. Far away is the light aroma of smoke or overheated engine oil, a freshly opened barrel of grease.

Taste, light vanilla cream, malt notes. Velvet.

    Aftertaste, light, soft, medium duration.

Conclusion, the delicious soft recognizable Ledeig profile, you can catch light notes of smoked malt, but they are very, very far hidden. Alternatively, pour a couple of drops of whisky into the palm of your hand and rub together vigorously.

    20 + 21 + 21 + 21 = 83
I wanted something more from a barrel fortress ... A musty note of packed burlap in the aftertaste

  8. Campie scored this whisky 88 points Expert Junior

Nose: dirty with ashes, lemon, damp wool and peat. A cow stable.
Mouth: same dirtiness but now with marmalade, caramelised apple, ashes, peat, dune grass, silt and black pepper.
Finish: caramelised apple and black pepper.

20 19 20 20 too young ... to be or not to be? to drink or not to drink ... this is not the option: (

  10. Kensay scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

good nose, watery body and somewhat indistinct finish. The release cannot be called a failure, but it does not cause delight and desire to return to it
    • Nose
      88 88
iodine, sea salt, peat, citrus fruits, fresh enough
    • Taste
      86 86
iodine, algae, medicines, lemon juice, slightly watery
    • Finish
      85 85
      somewhat empty, citrus and iodine
