Crushed blackberries, moist wood, forest peat. Caramel, old leather richly waxed, black earth filled with humus. A net of ashes. At first it was the sherry that dominated, after half an hour it's smoke. Very good balance. But it's light.
Woody palate, sap, pear, plum and grapes, some warming spices. A lot of dark chocolate in the finish, and even coffee, quite long in fact. Mocha. A bitter note in retro-olfaction. A slightly fragile and nuanced expression, it changes bombs of all kinds.

Soft smoke rises from the glass into my nose, to a slightly alcoholic note, despite the "only" 43% Vol. In addition to ripe fruits towards oranges and wild berries, but also beautiful earthy notes. The whole thing is rounded off by a piece of pocket coffee.
    • Taste
      85 85
On the tongue, the Bowmore shows a nice mix of smoke and honey sweetness. For 43% Vol. Amazingly strong and at the same time well integrated alcohol. The fruit gradually comes through more and goes in the direction of currant jelly. Overall nice and round and just delicious.
    • Finish
      84 84
Medium with dark chocolate, soft smoke and lasting honey sweetness.

I want to like it, but can't quite get past its one major fault, a lackluster body.
    • Nose
Nice sherry notes. I quite like the oak, tar, something marine, and putty (or whatever you'd call that signature smell of bowmore), but everything is a bit faint. No assertiveness, no depth. Domesticated is the word. There is this "old style whisky" air about it, but it's been ruined with water.
    • Taste
It almost makes me angry how the taste is instantly likable to me, but it's all too faint. The body is flat and lazy, and that is such a major fault, the otherwise pleasant, tarry, chemical-y taste can't save it.
    • Finish
Ashy, sherried. Does not last very long.

      Sherry and Citrus
    • Taste
      85 85
Little smoky, hints of Sherry, citrus fruits
    • Finish
      84 84
medium Long, not as good as expected

Something about Mon Cheri: sherry and chocolate. But also a touch of leather and smoke.
    • Taste
      89 89
Full buquet. Sherry, oak and smoke. Complex and harmonious.
    • Finish
      89 89
The taste impression continues in the finish. Complex, but harmonious. Delicious. Smoke, sherry sweetness and spiciness.

bourbon and oloroso, current fashion !?
    • Nose
rubber, then smoke and macerated fruit, it's sweet, on dark chocolate,
    • Taste
Smooth-fruity well-mixed, with fruits bathed in a sweet juice, caramelized almost, we have black cherry confit and soaked
present malt, fairly strong spices on pepper, musty that comes out strongly
a grassy side arrives in a subtle way
the clear smoke, a flavor always maritime, sweet, found in small ports
    • Finish
macerated fruit and cooked, sweet, fine smoke, it is quite long and tenacious at the bottom of the glass!

Sound Bowmore. Not earth-shattering, but a bit better than his 18-year-old brother. Fat and full on the tongue.
    • Nose
      87 87
At first spicy smoke, mixed with red berries. Loamy soil, a little moder. Chocolate, freshly brewed coffee. Sherry and smoke complement each other well.
    • Taste
      86 86
Although mild in onset, he promoted directly bitter oak, herbs and mold on the tongue. Mild smoky. Milk chocolate, toffee, honey. A touch of lavender.
    • Finish
      85 85
Medium long, dry, spicy, smoky. Sweet grapes, neat oak.
