    Talisker 10 YO, 45.8% (tasted 16.01.2019)
Nose: Slightly “fat” nose, oily, tar, freshly dried salty ropes, liquorice, black pepper, engine oil, hint of rubber. Sweet old boathouse. A few drops of water does not change much. (90p)
Taste: Oily, slightly peppery, tar, liquorice, hint of caramel. With water it becomes softer and sweeter (87p)
Finish: Slightly oily, black pepper, liquorice, citrus acidity (lemon and grapefruit?), slight bitterness. Some complexity. (87p)
    Total score: 88 points.

    First of all:
My own grading system goes from 1 to 10 and after a long deliberation, it breaks into WB points:
    48 - 57 - 65 - 72 - 78 - 83 - 87 - 90 - 93 - 95

The Talisker 10 is very close to 7 out of 10 points.
    • Nose
First, a neat spiciness and the smoke come. Then I get a little note in the nose and the Talisker 10 reminds me very much of the Port Charlotte 10 (2nd Edition).
After 10 minutes, the sharpness is significantly reduced. I find little sweet here, actually only the bit of the wine notes and maybe a little caramel. But then it is rather light burnt caramel.
    • Taste
At the very first moment, little taste comes on the tongue and the whisky seems light.
After 2 sec. clearly a ripe, yellow pear shines through. Very briefly, the alcohol is reported, but immediately milder. I can not find the promised chili-catch on the Talisker 10.
The longer it stays in the mouth, the more pear shows up and it gets sweeter.
    • Finish
The pear holds in the mouth next to the light smoke. However, she beats around in a pear bowl, because here a slight bitterness sets in. The finish is mild and medium length, maybe a little shorter.

On the nose: peat, smoke, earth, muddy grass. It's almost rancid. Dried fruits, a little salt. By force, we feel the marine freshness.
The entry into the mouth is strangely soft after a nose as harsh, we find a very good balance between salt, earth, honey, nuts, caramel, a little leather.
The peat is strong in the final, it is peppered, very long in the mouth. We have a salt return one or two minutes after swallowing. The pepper is long to shudder on the lips.
A very good whisky, at a modest price.
