N: Gearing up another five years, this one is husky/dry grassy and buttery on toasted oily croissants [again], and with more of that teetering sweet-sourness, light smokiness, malty cream soda, white breadiness,…

T: Raw [in a good way] and considerably salty, we’ve more toasted oiliness, maltiness, grassiness, mild sweetness into sherbet citrus, and creaminess – now all part of tonight’s established profile theme. On the turn, narrow yet permeating, more lactic with water. Though slightly thin of body, we’ve still quite some heat.

F: A very light sweet n sour, dusty barley sugar finish, the cask supportive yet respectful.

C: Another spirit-faithful single cask offering, this one with subtle Kilkerran vibes. Though “,… not archetypal Arran” [Mariella], this becomes more ‘regular’/generally more whisky-like – later on.

Arran has in my opinion a Brennereicharakter, which comes with bourbon barrels to bear the best. This shows up here again, where I believe that there is still room for improvement.
    • Nose
Minerally light citrus notes, then directly the typical for Arran ginger - but as unequivocal as ever, then a really strong mango, honey melon I feel reminded, the sweetness is getting creamier, water makes the yellow fruits even more superficial, the ginger note stays - that was not the alcohol
    • Taste
Strong and creamy onset, directly again yellow fruits, followed by a Pfeffrigkeit, which strongly reminds again of ginger, in the end makes itself a fine oak spice wide, here the water works wonders and makes the Malt altogether rounder and interwoven
    • Finish
The oak and pepper prevail at the beginning, which then the yellow fruit quickly push past again, the finish I overall nice long and warm
