Whisky Reviews for Bunnahabhain 1989 IM

- All in all a very balanced whisky, which misses the advance into the upper class but slightly. Very good, no question, but for a 27-year-old, the big "Wow" stays with me. This is not to spoil the whisky, quite the contrary, only I would have hoped for more smoke at an Islay. The Bunnahabhain before 2004 on too large smoke and peat notes has waived, I was previously unaware. But for just this ignorance the whisky can not do anything. Therefore, I will use the actual bottle only for a bottle division or swap / sell them.
- Very pleasant and mild Bunna, who can hardly be identified as such. So far I did not have a 27-year-old distillery in the glass. A sample was bought, because I did not want to rip the bottle myself.
Tropical fruits and seaweed, vanilla and in the background a very subtle hint of smoke.
Orange, lemon, apricot, plum and cherry, a colorful mix of fruits, many will taste even more or other fruits. Barley note accompanies the whole, together with a slight peat note and wood.
Dry and maritime fresh, medium to long with a lot of oak and in the background fruit.
