Very nice balanced malt. Not everyone will like the sweetness of the wheat. But all in all, very fresh and tasty
    • Nose
Sweet. Reminds me of Arran 10. Apple ... really good. Minimal smoke. Candy fragrance
    • Taste
Bourbon comes out clearly. Beautiful oak paired with sweet wheat. Soft and round.
    • Finish
      Medium. Dry wheat sweetener.

A sweet-fruity, to the end dry Bourbon Balblair with a good PL ratio, to Nebenbeiwegsüffeln thoroughly recommended
    • Nose
Apple strudel with cream, vanilla and some oak
    • Taste
Caramelised apples and pears, fresh hay, oak
    • Finish
Dry, medium-long, oak, with fine-sour fruit sweetness

Some sour dish, a light smoky touch, typical bourbon-cask-vanilla, caraway seed, green apple

First sweet - then becoming sour, vanilla, green apple,
    • Finish

Ralfy review 737: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6XWADpxKY8 (86&88/100). Extra 1 glass of whisky poured 1 hour ago.

"It is a perfect antithesis for sweet heavy sherried single malts."

2017 probably the 3rd releases of this vintage instead of 1st as I have seen releases on 2015 and 2016 before. quite confused with Balblair sometimes. Briefly tried awhile ago and immense in the fruitiness of this one (884:81pt)

N- Abundance of exotic juicy fruits, various melons, strawberry, earl grey with toffee underlay. Fragrant oak with lemon-ed oat undertones. Elegantly soft and pleasing with honey drifting. (87/21)

P- Fresh fruits salad with substantial oak that gives a fine weight to it. Comfy honey, harmony, obliging and certainly harmless. Velvet and utterly delicious. (86/20)

F- Medium-long, whiff of hot almond chocolate and nutty, Soothing dry zest of fruits for echoing chewiness. (88/22)

    Body/Balance- 88/22

    Weighted Rate- 85pt

He needs time in glass before drinking it. Then he is quite delicious.
    • Nose
Juicy pears, citrus notes, malty, orange peel, some cloves, later come vanilla and cotton candy
    • Taste
Malty, just a little bitterness, oaky spice, creamy and sweet, light grapes
    • Finish
Oak spice, not so bitter, a little warming, some vanilla and malt

  10. thijs100 scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

    Easygoing, that's what this is.
    • Nose
Extremely light and malty, to the point that I'm convinced this must've matured in some of the most inactive casks known to mankind. Hints of fruit (banana and a touch of lemon), as well as some wet grass and vanilla.
    • Taste
Nice creamy texture, with quite a peppery arrival, followed by hints of honey and hay, with finally some cloves as well.
    • Finish
Slightly bitter, before mellowing into light summer fruits. Medium in length
