Actually quite nice but also fairly shy for a 20 year old bottling. Not that much going on in taste and finish but I like this a little more than the Fettercairn 1995 20 yo Douglas Laing (whisky ID 81036) which I tasted head to head with this.
    • Nose
      85 85
Floral, a mild spiciness and grassy note, light fruit syrup, peach, apple, unripe pears, galia melon, lemons and limes,
      vanilla and a grainy note.
    • Taste
      84 84
Vanilla, a little oilyness, dried apricots, some pear and faint citrus, a mild white pepper note and some
      distant bitter wood spices.
    • Finish
      83 83
Short to medium: mild vanilla and honied sweetness which develops into spicy and slightly bitter oakwood.

  2. andre8x8 scored this whisky 84 points Expert Junior

    Nose:
Pretty flat, citrus, green apple, butter

    Taste:
Soft, somewhat greasy and sweet, vanilla, and bitter at the end

    Finish:
    Reasonably long, bitter and bitter

  3. Dre73 scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

Not too complex, but pretty fruity and pleasant.
    • Nose
      85 85
Fruity, citrus, tangerines, vanilla. Alcohol pretty dominant. Some lemoncake.
    • Taste
      85 85
Some light peppers, a little pungent, fruity, oranges, citrus, vanilla, honey. Peach as well.
    • Finish
      84 84
Still a little pungent, sweet, more tropical fruits and peach now, and vanilla again. Middle long finish.

I think this is a pretty pleasant dram to drink and would not have bumped me if I had bought this whisky. Although it is not a high flyer
    • Nose
      86 86
Fresh acid, some greasy, Reminds me a bit of whipped cream with fruit from canned. Somewhere of lime in the distance.
    • Taste
      85 85
Sweet, again that greasy and creamy tones. Then a fresh acidity. Fruitella! that's what I was looking for! In the background a nice bitterness
    • Finish
      84 84
Medium-long in length. Here is some more bitter notes. But then also literally bitter notes. the aftertaste of not properly dried walnut. But the main part is still a fresh sweet with some fruit.

Very briefly sweet but then quickly bitter. Pepper.
      Flat, low voltage.

      Short to medium. Flat.
