No vintage on this miniature, but bottled in the early 1980's, so distilled in the mid-1960's. Cadenhead released several dumpy's with vintages of 1965, 1966 and 1967 in the early 1980's. This should be left-overs probably from those batches. Dram Dracula is right, this stuff is not very good. Not completely undrinkable, but more for educational purposes so to say.
    • Nose
Mmh, hints of cardboard and porridge at first nosing. Cereal-mash followed with cut grass, hay and heather. 'Greenish' notes of leaves and nettle. Some flowery notes as well. Mint in the background.
    • Taste
Very astringent with lots of strong citrus notes of lemon and bitter grapefruit. I also got solvent associations with nail-varnish-remover and aceton. The bitterness overpowers everything in this whisky, there's no sweetness of fruitiness at all. Quirky and unpleasant Glenkinchie.
    • Finish
Medium long with a peppery punch. Ginger and a little clove. Pine at the end. Though Glenkinchie from the 1960's is quite rare (only some Cadenhead dumpy's and an ocassional GM), doesn't mean it's good.

It's not as bad as some older Edradours but 'tis plenty bad.

A sharp, floral smell. Potpourri and perfume? Also with honeyed lemon tea. Definitely weird. I will reserve judgment until the taste.

Glass cleaner and soap. Peppery with sour lemon candy. Definitely weird, and yes, definitely not pleasant.

Not short enough. YIKES. A very flawed whisky. Wish this was 20ml instead of 50ml.

From a mini with a rather too good of a fill.

  6. Oldpultnie scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Light fresh and peppery nose. Floral (almost a perfume) with citrus fruits. Barley and a little touch of oak.
    • Taste
A bit on the oily side with spices and also very floral. Medium and half smooth with some sharpness on the edges. Not too sweet with the spices on top and more lemon touches on the side.
    • Finish
Medium finish, drying out a little and herbs.
