    This Ledaig from Tobermory Distillery is a really smoky and complex malt that could have come from the Isle of Islay. Ledaig means "safe harbour". The new bottling of Ledaig was bottled at a higher alcohol content by Burn Stewart. 12-year-old Bunnahabhain and 10-year-old Tobermory also experienced this upgrade.

    utes ratio of smoke to fruit and sweetness. Very well matched, I personally like quite well.
    • Nose
      Smoke (campfire), maritime (seaweed and earth) in the background, a malty sweetness builds up
    • Taste
      ripe fruits, light smoke (not too intrusive) maritime, onset of oak and build-up malt
    • Finish
      long, oak and smoke are balanced, light fruitiness and sweetness

    What a nice 46.3% standard - and above all: No penetrating Kuhstallaroma! Obviously there are significant fluctuations in the batches.
    • Nose
      Creamy and dense nose. The smoke from the beginning dominant, herbaceous and spicy. Slight sharpness pushes forward, which has quite a bite. The sharpness does not prevail, but smoke remains beautiful superficial and greasy. Some pepper and nutmeg, a little bit of lemon.
    • Taste
      Full, spicy and almost sweet start with a nice portion of spicy peat smoke. Lemonade pulls through briefly, otherwise it could be candied apricots, which provide here on tongue for supple sweetness. A little vanilla, some spicy forest honey. After some time, then wet cardboard and damp forest soil, pepper, nutmeg, rosemary - and the fruit is now almost fermented.
    • Finish
      Medium long, only slightly dry, still smoky with a nice greasy touch, engine oil.
