Distillate dating from 1979, version SH-01. Bottled in 1996.
The dress is much darker than our time, it's interesting to emphasize.
The nose is dense and deep, carried by sherry, candied and chocolate.
Menthol and rosemary, the profile becomes vegetal and earthy.
Some yellow fruits recalling the presence of bourbon, we think of pineapple, yellow peach.
In the mouth it is also dense.
Orange and fruits with yellow flesh.
A little cocoa, lactic and brioche.
Earth, old wood, some leather and tobacco.
Menthol and anise, a tad on bitter licorice.
The finish is moderately long, looking for vegetal and animal notes.
Sacred difference between this old version and modernism.
The distilled version post 1995-2000 is very fine, floral, elegant and sweet.
This version is robust, hard, dense and complex, going on the animal side and rich.
It's good but too soft, at 48 or 55% it would have been excellent.
Unfortunately very hard to find at the right price.
A chance to have a taste.
