Some time ago I tried the "new" 10YO and was pleased enough to score it 89. After that I struggled to find the same quality in the 2008 Organic and even the 2005 Peat Smoke.
Happy to say this is the best one yet. At £50 it's a steal.
Thanks to karloff for the sample.

Delightful! Not sure if I should drink it or wear it.
Soft sweet sherry soaked fruit cake with some light ginger spice.
A hint of citric in the form of grapefruit.
Suger coated red currant and cherry pits.
Some very light wood in the background.

      So so savoury.
Thick, oily, sweet. Almost like a spiked well aged PX.
Pleasant build up of spice making the body richer and bolder, adding another dimention to the sweet fruit.

      Well past medium lenght.
Tobacco leaves and slightly bitter coffee.

This isn't as spicy as the 10, they are there but are a lot more subtle. There isn't much points wise between the 10 and the 15 but they are both great for different reasons and that is what you want from a distillery. For what you pay for this has to be one of the best 15's out there. Another wonderful malt from a wonderful distillery.

Tinned plums, summer fruit pudding, gloss paint, some herbs and some spices. I am struggling to find any smokiness like some have found.
There is blood orange and ginger cake, dark cherries, malt loaf and a great red wine.

Very nice and succulent. It's one of those where you flick your tongue off the roof of your mouth because it's that succulent. This goes down very easily and what is left behind is rich and creamy. Lots of nice red fruits with just a little spice. Again can't find that smoke as you sip it and roll it around your tongue.

A medium to long finish, with liquorice root stick and finally that hint of smoke on the death.

  3. Moses scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

I'm a friend of> 15 years, but this whisky has a hard time making a good impression against its younger 10s. First of all: for me 50/50. Both have what the other does not and vice versa.
    • Nose
Orange peel, apples, honey underlaid with gentle ash smoke. The sherry is disturbed by the alcohol? Then a little pepper, boiled fruit and honey-sweet again. Woody malt. So quite interesting.
    • Taste
Immediately fruits like apple and pear, a little tangerine. Chocolate and then nutty smoke. Now it is getting slightly bitter from the load of spices. I feel pepper and anise. Then herbs and some eucalyptus. The smoke is less noticeable here than on the nose.
    • Finish
Medium to shorter. He just walks there and at the same time you can taste the chocolate with herbs and fresh grass. You have to give him one thing: the aromas work together harmoniously and due to the older age the peat smoke is very pleasantly reduced here.

Not one for the faint hearted.
Big old school style sherried dram. You either adore or detest, no middle ground.

Big and smoky, where are in smoked hickory and burnt log territory. Soot and ashes backed with a big helping of sherry. There some fruity notes in there, red apples and dried cranberries. Picking up spice as well, some tickley pepper and warming cinnamon.
    • Taste
      87 87
Peppery on spicy on arrival, then backed up with big oak and leather notes, dusty old library for sure. Some tobacco and kerosene next, while that spice just keeps going. Elements of smoke wafting in over the tongue.
    • Finish
      87 87
Drying and bitter, the spice continues on.....
Big coal smoke notes here as the mouth becomes drier and drier. Long and lingering notes of soy sauce.

Sherry, smoke, cold ash, nut, raisins, caramel, vanilla, oranges
After a long time, the spiciness comes into its own. The delicate fruitiness fades into the background, pepper, wood and some sulfur appear.
    • Taste
      86 86
oily, fruity, sherry, pepper, smoke, chocolate, spices, cherries, grapefruit
    • Finish

medium length, chocolate, oak, pepper, leather
