Whisky Reviews for Golden Rare 10-year-old

I agree with the 88 points score of Candide. This is a solid drink, easy drinking and tasty. I had never seen this before and jumped at the chance of a bottle share.

Never ignore those old blends & malts bottled for the Italian market because Italians know their whisky :).

My only negative point is that the nose is a little distant.

Great always nice to find something older, that is different.

    I really like this one.
    • Nose
Smells like a bag of lemon bon bons mixed with honey, and shortbread.

Faint hints of vanilla pods and custard.

This actually smells like an older blend, similar to some Old Haig dumpy bottles but the nose seems to fade a little in the glass.
    • Taste
Now then, full on the palate, very fat and creamy with some oaky bitterness.

There is a nice fruity fizz here, some yellow plum, sultana, a few fruit cake notes, honey.
    • Finish
Decent length, quite vibrant and lively ending on a sweet finish.
