A very nice one - lots of tropical fruits and flowers, some spicy notes too, cinnamon, ginger, and honey and spearmint

After 4-6 weeks aeration this one gets really REALLY nice - gets better and better, now 93 points

Needs a lot of time in the glass. Very fruity start as in a 73er Speysider, but missing the complexity of the Scotsman. Delicious!
    • Nose
Bright tropical fruits, pineapple, papaya, mango, banana, even pear, grass, mint, honey, coconut, lemon verbena, flower meadow, daisy, chamomile, mint, glue - urgently needs a lot of time in the glass until it clears and opens
    • Taste
Sparkling onset, sweet and creamy, oily; instant fruit explosion - pineapple, passion fruit, lemon, grapefruit, melon, green tea, lemon balm, flower meadow; mineral, white pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, dark chocolate, (coconut) nutty, then mint, olive oil
    • Finish
medium length, pineapple, cinnamon and pepper, coconut, at the end the mint

Fruity as expected with the usual tropical notes, a bit of alcohol prickle so maybe could be more balanced, really enjoyable

    Balance (23)
    Luxury Whisky (91)
    • Nose
Healing herbs, eucalyptus, raw bread, rusty citruses ... dusty cloves, salt ... quite closed, having stood in the tropics and vanilla, a little wax and barnyard (22)
    • Taste
Juicy, fat, oily ... awesome melon with chocolate, lollipop and tropical fruits in cream (23)
    • Finish
Mint, fruit, creamy finish ... melon, wood, herbs, iron and salt (23)

    an Irishman, often badly considered!
    bottle emptied more than half:

very fruity scents, fresh and cooked for the fruits, also spices that rise, malt well present and a little lemon.
the palate is very velvety, with the exotic fruits (pineapple well present and other yellow fruits a little cooked), it is very concentrated in perfume, then the sensation is spaced a little !!
    a little grass in return.
final on the same scents !!

    Enthusiasm 4/5
    Whisky n ° 1601
    • Nose
Fresh, with vegetal notes (hay) that tend to dominate exotic fruits.
    • Taste
Smooth attack, touch super delicate, creamy. A tart, spicy chouia. White peach.
    • Finish
      With exotic fruits. Respectable length.

A fabulous nose, unfortunately the mouth is not up to par and causes a legitimate disappointment. The whole is well done but suffers from the comparison with some "Irish" recently released.
    • Nose
Superb nose on exotic fruits and sugar syrup. There is a little sweet side very pleasant. At the fruit level we find mainly, mango, pineapple and apricot. A clearly greedy nose with a vegetable mist and some woody aromas.
    • Taste
The attack is light even if it rises quickly and crescendo. There is exoticism and pear. We find this little sweet side that there was on the nose but much more discreet. The whole is rather dry in mouth with spices and a "citric" end. It's less greedy than the nose.
    • Finish
Beautiful length on the exotic fruits first then arrive the woody, the spices and a very slight bitterness. A hint of vanilla strolls on the end.

Serge gave it 91 points ! Ireland 27 yo 1990/2017 (48%, Maltbarn, The Malt Clan, bourbon, 206 bottles) Five stars In theory, this should be pretty unbeatable… Colour: straw. Nose: the 2003, minus the sour/dry sherry, plus a much better polishing. Pistachio cream, mango jam, aloe, perhaps a little bacon (really), some cake straight from the bakery (raisin cake?) and, above everything, some very precious blue-green tea. Very subtle and delicate, less extravagantly fruity than other casks of this make. After ten minutes, there, passion fruits, pink grapefruits, and wet chalk. Mouth: only one major flaw, I was expecting this, while I do like surprises. Otherwise, we have passion fruits, mangos, a wee touch of salt, a feeling of clay, melissa water… And all that. Finish: medium, pure, and extremely fresh. A wee touch of litchi and pineapple in the aftertaste. Comments: luminous and refreshing. Yeah, most sadly, as expected – but we shan’t complain, shall we? SGP:651 - 91 points.
