Whisky Reviews for Kilchoman 2008

More like a Ledaig nose than Kilchoman. Kinda stinky. Sweet combination of swiss cheese and burned rubber. Very delicate peat smoke. Salty smoked meat. Underlined by intense alcohol.
Powerful start. Smoke being more dominant than in the nose. Sweet, honeyed taste. Takes a while until the sherry flavors are kicking in and get past the smokiness.
Smokiness lingering on, staying malty sweet till the end.
Very nice dram. Can be enjoyed neat very well. However some drops of water will open it and held the sherry aromas get to your nose.
- The sherry barrel was rather restrained, the delicious distillery taste comes out well but also a bit associated with his youth.
foul sweet smoke, at first you can smell alcohol, malt, summer hayloft, sunflower seeds, some mild cheese, water opens, more smoke burned and mineral, soft liquorice, car tires
Considerably intense, requires water, smoky and slightly aftertaste in the aftertaste
again a strong malt sweetness, lemon concentrate, then rather quickly flown, however, he comes back again smoky again
