An exciting experience, this new make.

I like the nose well, on the palate it is still too dirty for me, on the finish this fits better again.
Not 100% consistent, but that is promising for the future.

The most exciting German distillery I know. If the first about 5 yo whiskeys come on the market, that will certainly be interesting and tested.

Very fruity: raspberry spirit, not quite clean distilled with a slightly dirty undertone and peaty earthy tones meets some cigar smoke.
Sounds like an angle, but it is quite pleasant.

Sweet, soft start. Full, drinking, fruity again, but much, much dirtier. A sound almost like vomit.
In addition a lot of dry smoke, again a bit peaty, malty notes. Full and powerful, the alcohol very well integrated.

Here a bit fiery, but never sharp. Medium long, the aroma continues. Again a little cleaner than on the palate.

By chance, I've had enough of that stuff, I have to try it, and ... I'm positively surprised to the end!
    1. he has no piece of this typical German whiskey character, could also be Scot
    2. It is surprisingly un-disgusting for a Newmake (already had some), so the whole artificial, metallic, plastic-like Kladderadatsch is very limited
    3. Yummy smoke, if you think this away, there is certainly something grainy, bushy creamy, rather less fruity, which could be really delicious in the fresh bourbon barrel

Funny part, I'll wait patiently for another 4 to 5 years, but then I'm really looking forward to the whiskey!
    • Nose
what a weird part. This is more tormented New Make, that much is clear. Very fruity and artificially sweet, like this Balla Balla from Haribo, the best with blackberry and raspberry. Curiously, I like the ... and then, of course, this massive peat, which is almost a bit disgusting in the nose.
    • Taste
Fruit, raspberry spirit or similar, with massive peat impact, fat, smoky some sweat and cowshed.
    • Finish
a bit bitter, smoky, a little fruit and really a lot of "country air"

Although I'm not a big fan of smoke, the drop impressed me the most at St.Kilian's New Make Tasting. He was like all the other incredibly soft and malty, but the smoke has made him appear more complex and full of flavor and finish. Store the drop for 7-10 years in the Quarter Cask or Bourbon Cask and it will be a great whiskey. I'm glad !
