  1. Kantenmechaniker scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

Even if it may bring a small advantage in the nose, I would not add more water to this whisky, since it makes it around the mouth only sharp and one-dimensional. Without water it is a really interesting whisky.
    • Nose
Fruity, creamy, spicy, these are the three coarse impressions, which shoot me first through the head, a good dose of vanilla, some oak, roasted aromas, bright sweet fruits, mango, it also swings a slight dryness with, a little muff, after the first sip of lightly burnt caramel With water comes a nice chocolate note
    • Taste
creamy and sweet, honey, light fruits, mango, slightly sour, overripe pear, vanilla, some pepper, now some dry oak In the mouth, unfortunately, the water takes the flavors, not recommended
    • Finish
behind, a full oak load, slightly nutty, fruit pits, pear peel, a light chillitouch, and finally dark chocolate is added

In the nose, the bourbon-typical notes predominate. Creamy vanilla, banana and butter biscuits.
In the mouth, it shows first with a slightly sour note of pineapple, before again vanilla notes follow, before it fades out with a slight oak spice.
Not bad, but not a high flyer. I remembered him better when I was on Warehoustasting ...

  3. ARDBERG scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

Should rather be called a double maturation. Said to be a silent season decanting action, when exhausted sherry butts were reracked into 1st fill bourbon barrels and this is a beautiful example. Can't remember that I had a dram before that was matured in this order - it works very well for me, detecting even some Haribo Bears. A beautiful Bunna to me - unfortunately, the cask is basically empty.

Nice and drinkable - probably a bit too much vanilla and butter notes for my taste
    • Nose
Rather tropical fruits, pineapples, mango, ripe bananas but also pears, butter cookies, hints of vanilla
    • Taste
Very oily, creamy, buttery, vanilla, nice sweetness, also some fruitiness, cookies
    • Finish
      Medium long

This was a vetting of one Bourbon and one Oloroso Cask, put in a 1st-Fill Bourbon Barrel for a 3-year Finish.
