Nose: Some old dry peat fire, spice, some oak, sea influence, grapes and a
hint of sherry. Intense nose and pungent.
Taste: Oily, very spicy (cayenne pepper), winey, smoky, peaty, toffee and
some tobacco. Intense and surprisingly fresh for its age. The finish is long,
quite intense peat smoke with dark bitter chocolate, sea kelp and toffee.
General Impression: An incredibly spicy whisky for its age. More intense,
complex and spicer than many OB’s Taliskers.
