Pretty fresh nose. Something like eucalyptus and herb candy. Citrus too. Maritime notes. With water it becomes even more full and less fresh. Plus the Kilchoman smoke, which often reminds me of incense. Decent Kilchoman. For my taste, the barrel could have been a bit more intense.
A whisky that makes enjoyment enjoyable. I like these well-made bourbon whiskys with "rough edges" that are not round but consistent.
A campfire on the beach is extinguished and the smoke of cold ashes rises in my nostrils. The smell of seaweed and seaweed mixes with the scent of dark chocolate. In the background, vanilla and citrus flavors, nutmeg and coffee notes slightly swirl.
Strong campfire smoke is accompanied by a light sweetness. Tropical fruits, pineapple, oranges and a slightly peppery spiciness complete the taste.
The smoke remains present for a long time and is accompanied by sweetness, a trace of salt and mineral notes.
