    Very dense and balanced whisky. Unexpectedly high level and excellent quality of the drink, suitable for savoring.

      Extremely fruity, creamy toffee, fresh sedge, bananas, apples, cool sulphuriness like old Strathisla, some citrus notes and spices
    • Taste
      Sweet and fruity toffee, fresh fruit compote, moderate bitterness, also sulphurous as in the nose, dense and balanced, sweetness 7 out of 10, oily, lemon peel, quince.

    Appearance: Very pale gold, about straw.

    Nose: Honey, vanilla, caramel, light ginger, apple, citrus. Bourbon casks, it would seem.

    Palate: Honey, vanilla, alcohol hit, caramel, apple, then oak. Simple and tasty. Nice body at 46%.

    Finish: Cinnamon, ginger, pepper, honey and vanilla. Bit of oak. Not super long or special.

    Overall: A simple, sweet malt with the bourbon barrel coming through. Not super exciting, but nice body and weight.

    Gate number 9 of my Tastillery Advent calendar. Aroma pungent in places and not always pleasant. Taste and aroma kept rather flat without large rashes. Solid and satisfying craft. From my point of view, unfortunately, not anymore.
    • Nose
      76 76
      Almonds, light sulfur ... which becomes much stronger over time, citrus fruit, tangerine or orange, light medicinal smoke, a little malt, sweet
    • Taste
      78 78
      very spicy, malt, fruity, sweet, nutty, creamy / oily, smoke that becomes slightly stronger
    • Finish
      78 78
      medium length, oak, spicy, slightly fruity, clearly decreasing sweetness, malty

    This bottling somehow doesn't pick me up.
    Very restless, inharmonic and sharp.

    An honest, strong, good Speyside malt!

    [Color] straw;
    • Nose
      soft, flowery and fruity (apricot), slightly tart, malty, with vanilla in the background;
    • Taste
      first delicate, then strong, explosive, fruity (pear, overripe apples, figs);
    • Finish
      medium length and fruity; long finish, wooden, oaky;

    A malt that stands on it's own. The tasting notes aren't that special. Think of honey, malty core, oak, dry hay, vanilla, some apple and orange etc.
    This describes a lot of whisky and still this one is better than a lot of entry level OB's. For me it's because this one has an old feeling to it, that most modern whisky lack.

    Colour: gold.
    Nose: sweet, honey, beewax, matchbox, sweet fruits, citrus, oak, croissant, duchess pear, malt notes, and nuts.
    Mouth: sweet, spices, dryness, beewax, matchbox, sour apples, fruits, almonds.
    Finish: middle with spices, vanilla, matchbox, pears, oak and almonds notes.
    Craigellachie 13YO is a good balanced, smooth, interesting and tasty whisky. It’s a my favourite line from Bacardi malts.

  15. Woodsmoke scored this whisky 83 points Expert Senior

    A really good malt with this great wheat note. For 40 € maybe a bit too expensive
    • Nose
      Nice barley and sweet
    • Taste
      Soft and round. Strong note of sweet wheat, reminiscent of Kellogs Toppas.
    • Finish
      Medium-long and dry

  16. Joe Karacho scored this whisky 80 points Expert Junior

    Not at all my taste, that will certainly never be a big bottle, but maybe the older siblings have more to offer
    • Nose
      Behavior and cool, floury grained, slightly vanilla-sweet, slightly oaky-smoky, altogether very restrained
    • Taste
      As watery as alcoholic, dry to bitterly woody, some lemon, burnt caramel
    • Finish
      Medium long and dominated by dry oak, without these would give pleasure
