mhh - first he stinks - then he does not taste as good as a Glenfarclas, but what really bothers me - seasoning and sweetness is no fruity acid counter - that affects me in the long run to one-dimensional
    • Nose
Initially sulfur as from burned fireworks / matches with a slightly acidic impact, also a little pleasant tart metallic bitterness, a little bit biting - of the aromas not the alcohol, after some time in the glass, the sulfur decreases a bit - it raises wax and a hint of orange oil , delicate fruity acidity and from time to time, vanilla flares up with 3 drops of water on 20ml dram intensifies the orange, citrus notes, citrus oil, leather and a little tobacco come to it - oak comes to this one smells nice mild and round, I smell age but miss elegance
    • Taste
sweet tobacco floods the mouth, it tingles everywhere - even a slight numbness, honey with mint, wax, eucalyptus - a fresh tart feeling in the mouth, ZItrone and orange come with the second sip and bring along with bitter substances, the lemon is more dominant, nuts, oak gives only volume - remains discreet in the background,
    • Finish
tart, sweet, waxy palate, tingling in the mouth - a lot of lemon peel with some tobacco, cocoa - to dark chocolate

Under a Christmas dram by the sherry specialists of Glenfarclas, I understand something different. Little Christmassy notes, but not really bad. But for the price you get much better Glenfarclas. 85 points
    • Nose
Surprising for me (I had rarely at Glenfarclas so far) I smell at the beginning of a not really pleasant sulfur note, also a little burnt tire rubber after too much braking. After a long smell, a pleasant liqueur-like sweetness comes to the fore. Melted milk chocolate. fresh pressed orange juice.
    • Taste
Öilge sweetie. Glenfarclas-typical pepperiness and tingling on the tongue tip. Amazingly subtle fruitiness. Relatively fast transition to dry-bitter-leaching. Overall, relatively reserved in the mouth. The second sip is a little more pleasant.
    • Finish
Dry, slightly bitter but not unpleasantly bitter. Any kräutrige, slightly penetrante, unpleasant-musty Fehlnote, which I can not exactly assign at the moment, however, remains in the mouth.

This 1991 Christmas Edition certainly convinces, although I personally miss a little the fruity note and the sweet sherry aroma. Dark and dried berries and sherry aroma mix again and again with spicy and tart oak. Still, the intense walnut flavor is on the tongue ... A delicious Glenfarclas, I like it!
    • Nose
Restrained sherry aroma rises slowly and leisurely from the glass. Sweet milk chocolate and dark caramel mix with the fruity berries to a very harmonious nose. Hazelnuts rise from the subtly spicy oak elements, the alcohol is wonderfully integrated. A slight hint of sulfur dissolves from a hint of oranges, the nose becomes increasingly sweeter and fruity. Tough and oily streaks adhere to the glass wall, intense amber shimmers clear in the glass. Slowly, a subtle leather note rises from the fruity notes, but it could also make the sulfur increasingly noticeable.
    • Taste
Spicy and sweet oak tones dominate the first sip. A hint of sulfur and sparkling sharpness immediately follow the creamy notes of wood and envelop the palate in a warming cloud of a pinch of pepper, subtle sulfur and spicy oak elements. Dark caramel penetrates from the harsh oak notes, followed by a hint of grapefruit and fruity nut flavors. Dried berries mix with walnuts and some almonds. Voluminous the taste exudes its intense oak aroma and goes so slowly into the finish.
    • Finish
Corpse sharpness is on the tongue and warms the palate. Tart woody notes and dark, dried fruits and again a hint of leather or sulfur give the finish a pleasant and warming aroma. Slowly, the wood notes sound harsh and bitter, an intense walnut aroma remains long and intense in memory.

is more a spicy, woody whisky.
The fruit is easily felt in the background,
but the finish is very long and woody hmm
