We found this nose sweet and nutty, delivering pecan, nut brittle, nougat, dates and millionaire shortbread. It had hints of smoke and considerable weight for its age, later developing eucalyptus and tea tree oil. The palate was hot, woody and sweet; somebody said `Woof!` and there were comments about tackety boots on the tongue. Flavours of syrup sponge pudding, brown sugar, coconut, dates, ginger, plum, liquorice and orange made it a mouth-watering, surprisingly mature dram. Water brought burnt toast and fruit to the nose and fudge sauce and spotted dick to the palate. The distillery sits next door to Glenlossie.
