First some smoke, yellow fruit, sweat and dark malt broth. The smoke has fallen sharply after a while, ripe peaches are now surrounded by an unflattering fragrance of hay infusion.

It has an enormous onset, extremely powerful, this is the musty in the mouth continues, with quite strong sweetness, reminiscent of artificial honey.

The finish is then quite straightforward, actually the best thing about the malt.

It's fruity, yellow and white, but it's also got a very noticable alc fume at almost 60%.
The spicy alc is making it hard to pick up much more.
But there's a sharp note of what I would call urea. OK, pure urea is odorless, but it sounds better than cattle piss.
I had a neat sip before adding some water.
Definitely un-chill filtered as the water made it go completely opaque.
But it made it more approachable.
Mainly sour salty citric notes emerging.

Smoky, but with a spice and alc attack from the arrival that grow to an almost unpleasant level.
Neat I get only smouldering heat and dry smoke.
I must have gone straight to somewhere between karloff's water level 3-4, because what I got after adding water is bland bitter liquorice mixed with stale truffle sauce.

Neat it is just burning dry.
With water it is still hot, but no longer burning, just sour and borderline nauseating.

It says tropical fruits on the bottle, can't argue with that. Also cinder toffee covered in chocolate, blood orange and vanilla. Add water and you get salt, white pepper and white chocolate.

First of all this needs water from the off and it's better for it. Not very often this happens in my own personal experience. Just a little water brings out a smokey note along with those fruit notes. A little bit more water and there is lovely citrus notes and a good mix, orange, lemon, lime and grapefruit. It is still harsh to drink so adding a bit more water tames it a bit more and brings out liquorice and makes it slightly bitter but that's fine as it adds another dimension. A little bit more water brings out the spice but the bitterness turns unpleasant. As you can see different levels of water added brings out different flavours and textures but you loose others It's not layered, the balance is never really there.

The finish all depends on how much water you add. It can be fruity, spicey or bitter. Even woody with white wine vinegar. Also grapefruit or Indian tonic water dryness.
