After discussion with the team, it is a peated cask indeed and not a peated whiky. This explains that ... I'm a little weak.
Tasted at the distillery: cask R100104023A
Peated, really? Would not they have swapped my glasses? Dark chocolate. Leather. Very very mild medicinal sulfur (well below my tolerance limits). Prune. Figs. Is not we on a sherry? With aeration the medicinal is no longer present. A little more almond and a little coconut.
In the mouth, it's greedy. Fruits. Candy in syrup. Acid. Still no trace of peat?
Final acid on the candy burnt head. Red fruits. Light sugar syrup.
