    • Nose
      Malt, vanilla, then discrete fruits "with irish". Rough enough but he struggles to indulge
    • Taste
      Nice bitterness from end to end. Slender fruits.
    • Finish
      Pretty linear.

      Nose & Mouth 3/5
      Final 2/5

      Whiskey n ° 1988

    This Teeling Stout cask is really nice, a frank and beautiful success. Teeling proves again that his creativity combined with his excellent knowledge of whiskey allow us to excpect more wonders and all this for a great price!

    • Nose
      Very fresh, fruity with some vanilla. It reveals notes of pears and apples but also a touch of caramel. This nose makes me surprisingly think to white wine rather than beer.
    • Taste
      Sweet and creamy on the palate, it seduces again with its freshness and its fruity notes. We are mainly on pears and oranges aromas but there is also a touch of bananas in the background. Vanilla and some spices. It is difficult to express why but the end of mouth reminds the same end of mouth with a stout, without real bitterness.
    • Finish
      A relatively short finish but very pleasant, on oranges, vanilla and spices.

    as chaser optimal if you have a black beer in the glass.

  4. wisekycourse scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

    On the nose, toasty smell, caramel, vanilla, and floral freshness
    On the palate, roasted beans, cream, still caramel, a little spice and fruits that shoot towards the orange!
    In the final, short and simple on orange, vanilla and late oak
    A dram very good starter, not too strong, not too typed, very sweet!

    Tastes a bit like vodka orange with grain

    From the first nose, body and depth. Cinnamon, dark chocolate, coffee, cumin and cloves, we are in good heavy stout. Charcoal and fig, and behind a small note of apple and vanilla. On the palate, smoked wheat, more chocolate, woody notes, nice thickness of the juice. Some spices, paprika and pepper. Finally the finish, long, full of coffee, where a little ginger emerges. It's earthy at the end, and even after swallowing, it feels like a little left in the mouth.

    Sweet and little bit artificial - at my second try I could really taste something barleyish and bitterish like a stout
    • Nose
      80 80
      Lots of green fruits, herbs, black tea, hops, little leafy and grassy, honeydew
    • Taste
      78 78
      Oily, fruity, sweet, candy, blond oranges, lemon peel, something reminds me on fanta
    • Finish
      76 76
      Medium long, warm, sweet, zesty, herbal, a tad bitter

    Color: straw, very bright

    - an unusual barrel as a finish
    - unfortunately still bottled quite young
    - sometimes something else not bad, but I could
    not really convincing,
    - for about 30 € can try .... but probably will
    not be a permanent stock in a bar ....
    • Nose
      malty, sweet
    • Taste
      More intense and powerful start, significantly stronger or hotter than the smell suggests, unfortunately still quite strong alcoholic note, as soon as the alcohol subsides, the stout aromas clearly come out, bitter bitter aromas that are reminiscent of the black beer
    • Finish
      medium-long, powerful finish;
      medium-long, slightly bitter aftertaste

    A very unconventional whiskey with a finish is a "stout cask".
    [Color] = light straw;
    a decent Irishman, but you don't have to drink it!
    • Nose
      sweet, floral, fruity, juicy pear, malt, coffee;
    • Taste
      nice and creamy (overripe banana), sweet, fruity (ripe pears, apples), alcohol, spices, then tart beer aromas (little bitterness); very headstrong;
    • Finish
      quite short, malty, bitter aftertaste;
