Good, tasty, yummy, summer. Not complex, but fresh and round. Will not be my darling, but is still not to be despised and a highly recommended Speysider. I'll keep an eye on Dailuaine
    • Nose
The awarded by the bottler title "Meadowsweet Mint" So promises meadowsweet and mint somewhere in the whisky and so pre-stamped, I try the same, of course, to find synonymous with my nose. An undeniable sweetness rises immediately in my nose, which most likely reminds of honey, and sends me with flowery and grassy notes first on a summer meadow. After ten minutes, candle wax is also to be discovered and a faint idea of something sticky like armored tape. Unfortunately, I can not discover the eponymous mint.
    • Taste
The malt is very soft at first and lets me continue on the summer meadow. The alcohol is very well integrated and barely emerges, while honey is first again, followed immediately by vanilla and honeydew melon. Pepper and grass hide behind the slight sweetness, but are good to taste out.
    • Finish
Medium long with clear notes of hay and herbs. If I really want to, I can taste the eponymous mint a little bit here. Honey and vanilla are still present. At the very end, the hogshead barrel also makes itself felt with a slight touch of wood.

A lighter and more subtle experience. I like the nose, but taste and finish could perhaps be a little more outspoken.
    • Nose
      86 86
Floral, sweet and sour, pastry, vanilla, salted caramel, pear, galia melon, aniseed, mint and also some faint spicy nutmeg note.
    • Taste
      85 85
Vanilla, heather honey, grain biscuits, a little fruitiness with subtle citrus, pear and pineapple notes, some wood spiciness (pepper and nutmeg).
    • Finish
      83 83
Medium length with a little vanilla, honey, butterscotch and warming wood spices.

  4. Cask1988 did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

    • Nose
Friendly and fresh. Grassy, hay, Peach. Slightly waxy.
    • Taste
Soft and sweet. Slightly sour too. Hay, Tropical fruits like melon. It gives me a bit of a strange mouthfeel. Somewhat weird dry-creamy. There is not to much going on here in words of development.
    • Finish
Medium. A clear dried grass note. Dry at the end. With quite a lot of Peach. Soft and subtle. A slight hint mintwater at the absolute end.

  8. Defeatless scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

Prima whisky, the taste is the weakest imho
    • Nose
      87 87
Sweet, peach, tropical fruit, nectarine. Double drink. Underlying tones of hay or silage. In the distance, a little bit of acid.
    • Taste
      85 85
In the first impression, what is flat. Then a pleasant sweet acidity. Over time, the acid dominates a bit and you come out of those sour matt-like flavors. There is little development in the taste. I'm afraid the drainage has had to do with this.
    • Finish
      86 86
Medium length. Pleasant sweet acid ratio. In addition, a small trace of vanilla and caramel. The bunch pull away a little bit dry, but not disturbing.

  9. Nickolaas scored this whisky 86 points Expert Junior

    • Nose
      87 87
Apple/peach(candy), Napoleoncandy, citric, some mint, some cocos, grassy, bit floral, very fresh indeed, tiny bit of glue.
    • Taste
      86 86
Juicy citrusfruits and orchardfruits, minty, bit peppery at first, more creamy further on, malty.
    • Finish
      86 86
      Medium-long, bourbonbitter, powdered sugar.

A nice fresh whisky with a tasty, complex nose.
    • Nose
      88 88
Something stale, wheeze, wax, honey, but also beautiful fruit smells to observe: apple, pear.
    • Taste
      85 85
The fruity of the nose falls away and makes way for spices, a pepper, nutmeg. Then the fruit comes back fresh.
    • Finish
      86 86
Nice round with a nice sharp edge. Fresh fruity.
