phew, the assessment will be difficult
one should be prepared for a bitter and bitter malt
I like such malt every now and then
it is not a high flyer but dangerously easy to drink and with a price <40 € I find the PLV OK
the only drawback he could have tolerated more than 42%
    • Nose
Red wine, more tart, dark caramel, red berries (a forest berry mix of raspberries and blackberries), slightly earthy, slightly leather, grassy notes, later some oak, nutty notes,
      later: something musty and nougat
    • Taste
oily and soft on the palate
light raisins, oak, red berries, tart, bitter of tannins, wine, soft chocolate (~ 50%), red haribo bears, liquorice
      later citrus notes
    • Finish
      medium to long
light oak and becomes stronger, bitter, spicy, later bitter coffee notes, plus licorice which becomes stronger

Starts well and promises a lot, but then the too bitter finish depreciates a little. You have to like it.
    • Nose
      82 82
Overripe fruits, grapes, apricots, Galia melon, tart spiciness, slightly cooling, liquorice
    • Taste
      84 84
In the front a sweetness, currant jelly, then creamy dark chocolate, a little nut. Then comes the bitter spiciness, tannins, bitter substances.
    • Finish
      71 71
Quite bitter at the back, you need tolerance here. Behind it there is still a little fruit, but it gets the bitter, almost salty, astringent note. After a few minutes the bitterness goes away and leaves a pleasant feeling in the mouth.
Still, it's a shame, the finish costs a good rating.

    Jura 18.
    Nose: malty, grassy, fresh apricots.
Palate: Caramel, tanines (crused grape seed), pepper on the back of the tongue.
After: Quite a long aftertaste with some sweetness and crushed pepper.

42% is actually too little for this malt.
It is good that the red wine barrel does not come too far.
    But you have berries.
    But it is also bitter.
    All in all, he's okay.

The red wine finish makes the malt very sweet and brings with it a great berry aroma. Very tasty and easy to drink. Unfortunately in my opinion the alcohol content is too low, with a little more strength this Jura would be awesome.
    • Nose
Very sweet and fruity with sweet and sour berry fruits. Goes towards gooseberries and wild berries. In addition, pronounced vanilla, caramel and honey. In the background you can smell old wood and leather. After a long smell, the association with forest floor and brown sugar is added. Nice, ripe and interesting nose.
    • Taste
Oily and very soft, almost too soft. Sweet with brown sugar, light spice and some chocolate. Not as exciting as on the nose, but pleasing.
    • Finish
Oak with a bit of bitterness like black coffee and liquorice. A little spice with wine gum and forest honey.

    • Nose
Ripe fruits, sweet, reminiscent of rum,
    • Taste
Dark fruits, dates, a hint of smoke
    • Finish
      Round finish, medium-long, slightly bitter

fresh fruit, peaches from the can, raisins, sweet plums, almost candysweetness, nice nose, did not expect that from a jura. nice seabrease, love the nose
    • Taste
      77 77
a lot of earthiness, some wet oak, not at all.like the nose, very unspectacular. rather alcoholic for 42%
    • Finish
      75 75
unfortunately leaves a rather unappealing taste in my mouth, i fell in love with the nose but the taste and finished disappointed me. especially the finish is almost brutally unelegant but not in a nice way

The nose and taste are very soft, sweet and fruity. The finish, on the other hand, is quite bitter and dry. Doesn't match the rest of the flavor profile at all.
    • Nose
      86 86
very light maritime smoke which evaporates very quickly, dried fruits, herbs, very fresh aromas, light citrus fruits, honey, berries, very soft.
    • Taste
      87 87
lots of dark fruits, berries, dried fruits, caramel, honey, very soft and round, becoming slightly creamy, becoming slightly bitter much later.
    • Finish
      82 82
very soft and a bit bitter as well as dry, here the Bordeaux finish comes out in the dry version. Lots of fruits, very light citrus fruits
