It is better than the 6 years but it is far from folichon. I feel like an impression of baclée!
    • Nose
A different nose of 6 years old. There are mineral notes on flint & eggshell. There is also very light fruit and a veil of smoke.
    • Taste
Attack alive again. The integration of alcohol is very complicated unfortunately. Besides that we are always on mineral notes accompanied by a fine smoke. Bitterness at the end of the mouth.
    • Finish
Average length on mainly pastry and woody notes (bitterness always present)

  2. Hemdl scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

Below average nose, but in terms of taste and on the finish actually quite good. Very nice fruit sweetness and no real notes. If you have the first time in the mouth, which is quite fun.

Very fresh and with strong alcohol, you have to be careful. Some honey, some unripe pears and oak. Becomes a little quieter in the glass with a few minutes and less stormy, but this can not whitewash the lack of maturity. The nose is not a total failure, but also nothing to deal with like and long.
    • Taste
      85 85
Here much better than the 6-year-old from the MP7 series. Very sweet and fruity, the alcohol was much more pleasant than expected in the nose. The fruit sweetness lingers on the tongue for a very long time. In the background, the youth is still noticeable, not really metallic or alcoholic, rather something "out of round" and with a slight tendency to make new. In general, but surprisingly good, especially in comparison to only two years younger "brother", which disappointed in full.
    • Finish
      87 87
Medium long and still dominated by the honey and sugar poured fruits, before it goes into soft oak notes. Very smooth and surprisingly low in alcohol, good overall finish. No dryness, no bitterness. Personally, I do not need much more than that, that fits that.
