Whisky Reviews for Bruichladdich 2004

A very beautiful and exciting Laddie, offers many different directions!
    • Nose
Plum musty, clear sherry, these "Fresh Sherry Casks" have something in common, fresh cherries, you can see the Bruichladdich but still through, light hay and some cardboard / musty one has, peach, a little musty leather, coca plant, with the times more into the leather and the chest of drawers, but then also from coking hay or roasted nuts, all in all very interesting
    • Taste
He is also interesting here, you definitely notice the Kokel flavors again, smoking hay, fresh oak chips, dried apricots and yellow plums, dark chocolate, hazelnuts and walnuts, some coffee powder, orange bitters and some grapefruit, autumn leaves
    • Finish
Beautiful, very nice leather, some peat, dark chocolate and old dresser, espresso, the plums and apricots again with brown sugar, long for the ages

Here, old and intense sherry flavors merge with the typical musty Laddie character. The malt is not overly complex, but shows wonderfully pronounced leather, licorice, cereal, dark fruit and espresso flavors. A very aromatic Laddie to enjoy!
    • Nose
The fresh Sherry Hogshead has done a good job in the eleven years of maturity. So heavy sherry aromas of dark fruits (dry plum, plum jam, overripe cherries, cola wine gum), liquorice and old leather notes stream towards me. The musty Laddie-Stall aromas, along with caramelized or roasted cereal aromas (pumpernickel, sweet dark beer) can be clearly perceived. Then the spicy oak comes through and complements the nosing with old wood furniture notes, dark chocolate and walnuts. In the background there is also some cooling mint and even a very subtle old Goudanote.
    • Taste
The taste is dominated by a lot of old sherry (prunes, overripe blackberries), a lot of dark chocolate, which gains in sweetness every second in the mouth, dusty charred woody flavors and aromatic espresso.
    • Finish
Intense, old and sweet leather aromas now spread and linger long with dark melted chocolate, freshly roasted coffee beans, mocha, sauna wood and dark fruits in the mouth.
