Very good Ledaig indeed! Lots of smoke and a had enough influence from the refill butt. It's not (!) a sherry monster! Bottled at perfect age, to leave enough room for typical smoky Ledaig taste, but it is not too young to be rough. Funny fact: I don't know if it's by coincident, but Cadenhead labeled this Ledaig as "Highland" on the bottle ...
Probably the best Ledaig I drank up until 2018-11. Of course it needs water, but it's also fabulous without :) I congratulate Cadenhead's on their 175th anniversary with this awesome bottling. Sláinte!
Fabulous barn peat greatly balanced with the sherry. There's also some minty oak wood, dark sugar, some raisins,
Strong, bold, ripe red fruit, dark sugar, dark chocolate, ground coffee, all covered in this lovely barn peat. Fantastic.
Long, getting medium bitter, quite drying, the peat keeps covering the tongue while the ripe red fruit slowly dies off. The dark sugars stick to the sides of the tongue.
