Tasting notes by Adelphi;
Drawn from a 1st fill American oak ex-Bourbon barrel, this is deep gold and shows a moderate bead. Macaroons when rubbed in the hands. Coconut in the forefront, with vanilla toffee ‘robed’ with violet icing sugar. The texture at natural strength is mouth-filling and viscous. With water the aroma is of warm sponge tartlets sprinkled with coconut. Smooth, soft texture; very sweet overall, but with a chilli spice and nutmeg in the finish.
Really interesting to see this “heavy” make matured in a good American oak cask.
