Whisky Reviews for Teaninich 1973 TWA

- Deep concentrated flavors. Chocolate, spices and raisins.
- Fantastic dram. 43 years in a cask and very drinkable. Sherry, wood, fruit and spices. This goed over 90 for me. 92 points.
- A lot to love here. The nose is complex and balanced, for instance. But the palate a little less so. I am however nitpicking, as I'd happily finish a bottle of this.
Light and gentle, yet rich and full. Beeswax accompanied by lots of soft fruity notes like orange, peach and nectarines. A whiff of pine sap and icing sugar. Finally some brown sugar and Earl Grey tea.
Vibrant and very much still alive. Ginger, white pepper and pink grapefruit, with a fair amount of tannins too. Quite aggressive. Some light fruits. Cherries, berries and the such. A touch of smoke. Water mellows it slightly, and makes it a bit more herbal.
Hint of menthol, soft fruity notes. Long.
- [April, 2017] I had a tasting sip at the Limburg Whisky Fair and scored it with preliminary 91 points. It is a great and complex sherried dram of the old school where the Teaninich malt profile still clearly is recognisable.
