- The last drum from a 70cl bottle in a Pub in Dover
- Shieldaig Speyside from Ian MacLeod Distilleries.
Nose: sweet with apples, honey, apple peel, dried fruits, duchess pear, croissant, citrus, tangerine notes.
Mouth: sweet with apples, oak, dried fruits and pepper notes.
Finish: middle and sweet with spices, dried fruits, oak, fruit peel and pepper notes.
Shieldaig Speyside is a good balanced, sweet, easy drinkable, but simple whisky. I gave 78 points.
- Simple and empty
Aroma: Malt with a drop of honey and light vanilla. Mint and lemon peel.
Taste: Soft, malt. Cereal with vanilla and hint of oak. Hazel
Finish: Not long, malt with dried apples and nuts.
Hazelnuts, a tinge of red oranges, perhaps even sherry, a pinch of sweet peat, fruit juice and fruity acidity. (85 b)
Oily, sweet on the tongue. Orange marmalade, nuts, again lightly peat and sherry impression. The mouthpiece is finely peppery. (85 b)
